A Mexican governor, Miguel Barbosa, has stated that poor people are immune to the coronavirus as he argued that majority of the country’s cases are wealthy people.
The coronavirus is an ongoing global pandemic, which is responsible for the death of over 23,000, and the governor of the city of Puebla, in Mexico has courted controversy with his recent statement.
He said;
‘If you are rich, you are at risk. If you are poor, no… We poor people, we are immune.’
Several scientists have criticized Mr. Barbosa over his claims, calling him an ‘idiot’ and saying his theory was ‘incredibly stupid’.
Mexico has 475 cases of coronavirus and six deaths so far.
