A new generation Church, Charismatic Renewal Ministries in Asaba, Delta State capital, reportedly burst into flames while church service was holding on Sunday.

The church located at No. 35 Biosa Amantu Street, off Jesus Saves road, Asaba in Oshimili South Local Government Area of Delta State was said to have been gutted by fire around 12 noon.

The fire incident was said to have destroyed a section of the church complex, Daily Trust reports.

It was gathered that the fire broke out in one of the rooms in the Church complex where phones were plugged and kept on top of a mattress.

The fire outbreak was said to have thrown members of the church into a state of confusion thereby scampering for safety but fortunately there were no casualties.

It was gathered that the timely intervention of a team of firefighters from the state fire service and other sympathisers helped in extinguishing the fire.

A visit to the scene of the incident showed that the inferno destroyed sections of the building including the pastor’s office, documents and mattresses.
