Ghanaian man has been convicted for $3m romance scam

A Ghanaian man known as Henry Asomani has been convicted by a U.S court after being found guilty of a $3million romance scam.

Henry Asomani is a Naturalized Amer ican citizen who ws born in Ghana reportedly served as the figure head in the fraudelent act in which accomplices persuaded social media users and dating site users to provide money for gold mines,school and travel.

The U.S.A Attorney’s office for the western district of missouri said that the two year scheme involved 13 victims,including three from metro area.

The convict received a total sum of $2,993,354 through the operation,kept back some of the money for himself and sent some to a network of individuals in Ghana.He is now facing 30 years imprisonment.
