I Left Banky’s EME With Zero Naira – Wizkid Reveals (video)

Nigerian born superstar, Wizkid in a new interview revealed that he left his former record label he was signed to Empire Mates Entertainment with zero naira.

According to him in an interview with Capital Xtra, no one knows the story but the literary had to leave the label with Zero naira.

Empire Mates Entertainment (EME) co-owned by Banky W and Tunde Demuren was founded in 2002 and signed on Wizkid in 2009. Wizkid stayed with the record label for 5 years during a period of which he releases 2 albums with the first ‘Superstar” rated as one the best pop albums to ever grace the Nigerian market

Wizkid left EME in 2013 after reports started flying around of how he was been underpaid and cheated of his cuts by the record management. According to the report then, Wizkid was getting 25 percent from every show while Banky W and Segun Demuren were getting 50 percent. Osagie, Wizkid’s former manager, was getting the remaining 25 percent.

After firing Osagie and hiring Godwin Tom, Wizkid wanted a 50-50 share with Banky W but Banky W refused to accept his proposal.
