Imo Releases State Budget First Time Since 2014

The Imo State govt will today release its 2019 budget. After years of secrecy, its 2015-2017 audited reports were last week released to BudgIT.

The Emeka Ihedioha’s govt is also poised to sign up to the Open Budget System.

The Imo State Government would release its 2019 budget, which was signed into law by former governor Rochas Okorocha.

At a meeting with BudgIT, the state government also committed to signing the MoU on Open Budget System at the State Executive Meeting on Wednesday, September 11, 2019.

Note that this development enables us to support the state in meeting the WorldBank requirements for SFTAS development supports.

BudgIT is on nation-wide advocacy to state governments to improve their fiscal transparency and accountability.
