Man shot by police officer over bad N100 note

A policeman identified as Sergeant Kabiru, attached to the Special Protection Unit of the Lagos State Police Command, has been arrested after he shot a man over change.

According to Punchng Sergeant Kabiru, who worked as an orderly to a rich man in the community, had left his post to get N200 recharge card from a shop operated by one Sherifat.

He gave her a N500 not and collected N300 change – N200 and N100 notes. He however complained about N100 note being “bad” and requested a replacement, which caused some sort of verbal issue between him and the woman.

The woman, Sherifat then offered to give him back his money and collect her card back, but instead, Kasbiru left in anger only to return with his gun.

He allegedly shot into the ground only for the bullet to bounce on Mobolaji, who had gone to the shop to buy some items, injuring him in the process.

The p[olice officer has since been arrested.
