Jennifer Lopez slammed with $6.5m lawsuit for stealing

American singer, Jennifer Lopez, has been slammed with a N6.5m lawsuit over stealing.

According to reports, the entertainer who is the executive producer and a judge on NBC’s “World of Dance,” is being for stealing the idea for the TV show.

The man who sued her, Alvin Gray-El, has reportedly filed a federal lawsuit against J.Lo, NBC and popular choreographer Debbie Allen.

According to The Blast who obtained another court document, the man Gray-El is claiming he got the idea for the show back in 2009 when he had come up with his, titled “Let’s Start the Dance.” The man further claimed to have sent a letter to Debbie Allen and her production company to see if she would be interested in producing the show but she never got back to him.

Gray-El also revealed that he had the show registered with the U.S. Copyright Office in 2010.

When he discovered “World of Dance” was in the works at NBC back in 2017, he claimed to have tried contacting NBC to notify them of the copyright infringement but said he did not hear from them. He is now asking for $5 million in actual damages and $1.5 million in punitive damages.

A source who spoke with Page Six on Tuesday said that it was not Jennifer Lopez that came up with the idea for the show adding that“ World of Dance” existed prior to the show’s creation and Lopez was brought the idea for the show by NBC.
