Professor Ibeawuchi Innocent, the INEC returning Officer for the Imo West senatorial district election, has spoken on his recent error saying that he declared Governor Rochas Okorocha the winner of the election under duress.
Ibeawuchi mad ethis known while announcing the results of the poll held in the district on Monday February 25th.
“I declared this thing before under duress. I’m still under duress declaring this one. That Okorocha Anayo Rochas of APC, having satisfied the requirements of the law, has scored the highest number of votes, is hereby declared the winner and returned elected.” he said
The result announced stated that okorocha’s party, APC, polled a total of 97,762 votes to defeat the PDP candidate, Jones Onyereri, who scored 68,117 votes.
