An Oklahoma courthouse was forced to shutdown after bed bugs were reportedly dropping out of a lawyer’s clothing.
Rogers County Courthouse, located in Claremont, was closed Monday after the pesky insects were believed to be diving off the unidentified attorney in a third-floor courtroom,NYDaily News reports.
“He laid his coat over some files,” said Rogers County Sheriff Scott Walton. “When his coat was moved, bed bugs fell out of it.”
Exterminators were hired to rid the 90,000-square-foot building of the creepy pests with a chemical spray and the building was reopened early Tuesday morning, reported Tulsa World.
A precautionary letter on the courthouse door urged visitors and employees to seek treatment for possible exposure.
The head of courthouse security, Mike Clarke, claimed the attorney appeared blasé to his supposed bed bug breach.
“I don’t even think he cared,” said Clarke.
