Gay sex has been decriminalized in Angola. The country has become the first country to decriminalize gay sex conduct this year.

According to Human Rights Watch, this was made known on Wednesday when Angola’s parliament adopted the new first penal code since independence from Portugal in 1975.

Human Rights Watch also notes that there are still 69 countries criminalizing same-sex conduct.
