Bill Cosby’s wife, Camille, has called for a criminal investigation into judge Steven O’Neill, who found him guilty of sexual assault, branding the result a ‘tragedy’.

The actor is currently under house arrest and waiting to be sentenced after being found guilty of three counts of aggravated indecent assault, at the end of last month. His wife has now broken her silence on his conviction in a three-page statement shared on his official Facebook page.Camille, who has been married to Cosby for 54-years wrote

Three criminal charges, promised during an unethical campaign for the district attorney’s office, were filed against my husband,’ she wrote. ‘All based on what I believe to be a falsified account by the newly elected district attorney’s key witness. ‘I firmly believe her recent testimony during trial was perjured; as was shown at trial, it was unsupported by any evidence.

This is a homogeneous group of exploitive and corrupt people, whose primary purpose is to advance themselves professionally and economically at the expense of Mr. Cosby’s life. ‘If they can do this to Mr. Cosby, they can do so to anyone.’

This is mob justice, not real justice,’ .‘This tragedy must be undone not just for Bill Cosby, but for the country.’

The 80-year-old was accused of drugging and violating Andrea Constrand at his home, back in 2004. While dozens of other women have accused him of sexual misconduct, Andrea’s are the only allegations to have been taken to court.

He previously claimed their encounter was consensual – while his legal team described the victim as a ‘con artist’ who ‘wanted some of his fortune’.

However according to the AP, Andrea’s lawyer, Dolores Troiani, has since hit back at her words.

‘Twelve honourable jurors — peers of Cosby — have spoken,’ she explained. ‘There is nothing else that needs to be said.’
