Tyler Perry stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday night and talked about how he went up against one of his fiercest rivals to date in a recent bidding war at an art auction. That rival was none other than 6 year old Blue Ivy.

Perry told Kimmel about an item he was intent on winning at the Wearable Art Gala fundraiser on Saturday.

“I was really, really excited to be there and there was this art that came out for auction,” “It’s this beautiful painting of Sidney Poitier and I’m like, ‘I’ve got to have that.'”

So, Perry said he put up his paddle to bid and Blue Ivy on the aisle next to him counter-bid on the acrylic painting.

“I said, ‘Oh, I’m gonna teach you a lesson today!,'” Perry laughed recalling his thought process in going hard against the first grader. “And she keeps going up and up and up with it.”

The bidding got up to $19,000 and Perry said had Blue Ivy gone one more he was going to let her have it.

“But for me I’m thinking it’s charity, it’s a good cause and I’m not letting this !”

Perry ultimately won the bidding at $20,000 after Jigga comically took away Blue’s paddle.
