Senator Dino Melaye, was earlier today arraigned before Justice Olasumbo Goodluck of an Abuja High Court on grounds of providing false information about the failed assassination attempt on his life in April last year.
Senator Dino allegedly falsely accused David Edward, the Chief of Staff to the Kogi state governor, Yahaya Bello, for planning to assassinate him. He is now being arraigned on a two-count charge of giving false information about an assassination attempt on his life to the police in April 2017.
While being escorted to the law court today by Senators Shehu Sani and Ben Murray-Bruce, protesters wielding placards with inscriptions #IStandWithDino; If You Speak The Truth You Die, were seen outside the court staging a peaceful protest.
