Another man accuses Kevin Spacey of ‘wordless’ sexual assault

Another man has accused Kevin Spacey of sexual assault, describing how the actor allegedly groped him forcefully more than three decades ago.

In an interview with USA Today, Andy Holtzman said he was 27 and working as a program director at the Public Theater in Manhattan when Spacey walked into his office uninvited one day in July 1981.

Holtzman recognized Spacey, who was 22 at the time and starring in a Shakespeare play at a nearby theater.

“Within minutes, wordlessly, he was up and all over me,” Holtzman told the newspaper. “The aggression was certainly more than a grope. When I was finally able to push him off and scream (at him), he theatrically stepped back, incredibly angry, grabbed his coat and bag, stormed out and slammed the door.”

Holtzman was mortified. “What the hell just happened to me?” he remembered thinking.

He recalled with horror how Spacey hadn’t uttered a word.

“It’s never happened before or since where somebody physically forces himself on you in a wordless way,” Holtzman said. “It was the wordlessness of it – he never spoke to me throughout, not one word. I was saying things, he was saying nothing.”

Fearing repercussions from the up-and-coming actor, Holtzman never spoke of the encounter publicly but occasionally commiserated with close friends.
