A woman has been accused of shooting her husband dead because he had been beating their pet cat.
Mary Harrison, 47, was charged with murdering her husband, Dexter Harrison, in Fall Manor Drive in Dallas, Texas.
Harrison told detectives in Dallas that she shot her 49-year-old husband during a heated argument on Saturday.
She also said that her husband had been beating their cat.Mr. Harrison was taken to hospital, where he died,Mirror reports.
Neighbours have said the family cat recently went missing.
Mrs. Harrison posted notices about its disappearance, and the pet eventually returned home.
Harrison is being held on a $100,000 bail
