Jamaican airline crew member busted for trying to smuggle cocaine to U.S.

A Jamaican airline crew member tried to slip nine pounds of cocaine taped to his legs into the U.S., officials said Thursday.

Hugh Hunt, a Jamaican citizen, tried to smuggle the drugs on a Fly Jamaica Airways plane from Montego Bay on Saturday, authorities charge.

At Kennedy Airport, Customs and Border Protection officers ordered him into a private search room, where they found four packages taped to his legs, each containing cocaine worth about $160,000.
