The Lagos state police command has arrested a 40-year old man identified as Dominic Johnson, for impregnating his 14-year old daughter.
PMexpress reports that the incident happened at Onitire Avenue in Abaranje area of Ikotun, Lagos. The tenager has since given birth to a baby girl. They appeared before an Ikeja Magistrates court when Johnson was arraigned on Wednesday..
Johnson began sleeping with his daughter when his wife died. He reportedly warned the girl never to speak aword of it to anyone even when she was with child. However, the child opened up to her aunt after she gave birth and the aunt in turn confronted Johnson.
Johnson reporedtely threatened to kill the aunt his daughter and the baby which led the aunt to file a report with the police. Johnson was arrested and claimed he slept with his child while under alcohol influence adding he ahd no money to take another wife so resorted to sleeping with his daughter, but without the intention of impregnating her.
Magistrate Sule Amzat, ordered him to be remanded in prison custody without an option of bail and adjourned the case till 8 May, 2018.
