Donald Trump on Thursday morning seemed to place some of the blame for Wednesday’s deadly rampage at a Florida high school on the alleged murderer’s ‘neighbors and classmates,’ saying they should have told authorities about clear warning signs.
Students and people living near Nikolas Cruz have described him in the past 24 hours as a troubled teenager who threatened and harassed peers, talked about killing animals, posed with guns in disturbing photos on social media and bragged about target practice in his backyard with a pellet gun.
‘So many signs that the Florida shooter was mentally disturbed, even expelled from school for bad and erratic behavior. Neighbors and classmates knew he was a big problem,’
‘Must always report such instances to authorities, again and again!’the president tweeted.
Trump also ordered in an official proclamation that government buildings must fly the American flag at half-staff through next Tuesday.
