The corpse of one Mrs. Idenyi Ebere Ukamaka was found in a gutter shortly after attending a morning prayer at St. Theresa’s Catholic Cathedral in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State’s capital.
Some body parts of the 35-year-old nursing mother who left her 11-day-old baby for prayers, were found burnt to ashes in the gutter at the back of Enugu North motor park, along Afikpo Road.
It was gathered that the deceased left her home on January 12 but didn’t return. She was also not found after a search was conducted on the streets following a complaint her husband, Idenyi Festus made at the police station.
The lady’s identity was confirmed by her husband, after a body was found in the gutter on January 13. Police spokesperson, Odah Loveth who confirmed the incident added that the remaining body parts have been deposited at the mortuary for autopsy.
