Ajax Amsterdam goalkeeper Andre Onana has been suspended for 12 months by UEFA after failing an out of competition drug test.
The Cameroon international has been suspended for a period of 12 months, effective from 5 February, after he tested positive for having traces of the forbidden substance Furosemide in his urine during a test taken in October 2020.
Ajax have confirmed that the club will appeal the 24-year-old’s suspension and claimed that the former FC Barcelona academy star had accidentally ingested the medicine prescribed to his wife rather than his own.
