Former Senate President Bukola Saraki on Friday celebrated the posthumous birthday of Senator Isiaka Adeleke.
Saraki said the late lawmaker lived a remarkable life. He also commiserated with the people of Osun and the Adeleke family.
“Today, on his posthumous birthday, we remember my friend and former colleague, Sen. Isiaka Adeleke.
“As we celebrate his remarkable life, my thoughts are with the people of Osun State and the Adeleke family. May Allah forgive his sins and grant him a place in Aljannah Firdaus,” he wrote.
Adeleke also served as Osun governor between 1992 and 1983.
He died on April 23, 2017, at a hospital in Osogbo, Osun State capital.
A coroner inquest had indicted Adeleke’s private nurse Alfred Aderibigbe of administering drug overdose on the deceased.
But an Osun State High Court sitting in Osogbo discharged and acquitted Aderibigbe in December 2020.
