Nigerian winger, Alex Iwobi showed his coach Carlo Ancelotti, exactly what he has been missing as he scored a goal and provided an assist as Everton enjoyed a 5-2 win over Fleetwood Town in the third round of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night, September 23.
It was Iwobi’s first appearance of the season after he was snubbed from the club’s starting XI last week.
Richarlison opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, after Bernard’s assist. Iwobi then assisted Everton’s second goal, playing a lovely backheel to Richarlison.
Fleetwood scored through second-half substitute Mark Duffy two minutes after the second half started. Iwobi then scored for the home side making it the first time the Nigerian attacker scored and assisted in the same match on his club career.
Everton then scored more through Bernard and substitute Moise Kean to extend their lead.
