Nigerians on Twitter have taken to the Microblogging platform to protest to the recently released Music Video of popular Hip-hop/Rap artiste, Olamide Adedeji where he allegedly depicted Nurses as sexual objects.
Olamide had released the much anticipated “Wonma” video on Sunday 2nd of August 2020 on his Instagram Page with the caption “You should see it here first”. The uncensored five minutes video contains explicit scenes on most part of the Videos, in which a hospital scene with nurses engaging in sexual performances led to a public outcry accusing him of depicting Nurses as sexual objects.
He has however been forced to delete the Video off his Instagram post after series of protest by Nigerian users and Nurses on Twitter, see their reactions below:
I don't see anything wrong with this video (picture).
Our generation is just too sensitive to irrelevant things.
How does Olamide (an Entertainer) use of a profession in a video affect the whole profession?
How? #NursesAreNotSexualObjects pic.twitter.com/cZDrQdjVcp

Coming online to see this video was extremely disappointing. Time and time, people derive undue joy in trying to demean this profession. If you’re not insulting us, you’re sexualizing us. This video lacks content and in no way portrays nurses.#Nursesarenotsexualobjects pic.twitter.com/0eGVoin1Zh

Why does sexualization of Nurses exist in most men thoughts! You meet a man and the first impression they give you is I like nurses Cos
“They’re the most erotic creation on earth”
What tomfoolery! 😤🤡#NursesAreNotSexualObjects#NursesAreNotSexualObjects

Nigeria artists do display irresponsibility by using nurses image in a terrible manner. @Olamide just did. Nurses and nursing are noble. Nurses are being respected in a saner clime. You can never see nurses in UK, USA Canada bring dragged in the mud#NursesAreNotSexualObjects pic.twitter.com/nVbQIn1U88

I like how the Nurses raged over Olamide's video sexualizing nurses. In 24hours,the video has been taken down. That's seriousness and unity. If a profession is poorly portrayed by an entertainer, the sensible thing to do is to speak in one voice #NursesAreNotSexualObjects

There are other means to be creative, Sexualizing the Nursing Profession isn't one of them, and it's no where near "Entertaining" @Olamide New video connotes Nurses as SEXUAL OBJECTS in the eyes of his viewers both local & international.#NursesAreNotSexualObjects pic.twitter.com/Z6JpyEAWfH

I’m a YBNL fan 🥺, but this one from @Olamide is a no no! Not only does the video lack creativity! It does not in anyway project who nurses are!
Some will pass this under the banner of its just a parody video! But we can’t be quiet about this!#NursesAreNotSexualObjects pic.twitter.com/rDFonlwpHK
