34 years old, Former Super Eagles defender Taye Taiwo has joined Cypriot top-flight club Doxa Katokopias FC,
The veteran defender penned a one- year deal with the club.
“The Association DOXA TH.O.I. KATOKOPIAS announces the start of cooperation with the Nigerian football player Taye Taiwo,”reads a statement on the club’s official website.
“He chose to fight with the number 33.
”We welcome Taye Taiwo to the Doxa family and wish him every success.
Since leaving AC Milan in 2012, Taiwo has played for seven different clubs, most of them on short term deals including Dynamo Kyiv, HJK Helsinki and Bursaspor.
The 34-year-old last played in Finland for RoPS.
After spending a year at Nigeria Division 1 club Gabros International, Taiwo was bought by Nigeria Premier League side, Lobi Stars.
However, Taye Taiwo spent one season at Lobi Stars
In 2005, at the age of 20, Taiwo was sold to the French club, Olympique de Marseille.
The Nigerian left-back scored Marseille’s winning goal against Olympique Lyonnais on 21 March 2010, with a trademark left-footed strike from long range.
