Ukraine’s First Lady Olena Zelenska has been hospitalized in Kyiv with COVID-19, the President’s office said in an announcement on Tuesday.
Zelenska, the wife of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has been diagnosed with polysegmental pneumonia of moderate severity, but her condition is stable and does not require oxygen supplement.
The First Lady, 42, was hospitalized four days after testing positive for COVID-19, however, her husband, Zelensky, and their two children have tested negative for the virus.
“Today I’ve received a positive COVID-19 test result,” Zelenska said in a Facebook post on June 12. She added that the news was “unexpected”, as she and her family “continue to adhere to all rules: masks, gloves, minimum contacts”.
Currently, the president’s wife is in self-isolation, under the supervision of doctors.
