The Vice President for Agriculture, Human and Social Development at the African Development Bank (AfDB), Dr. Jennifer Blanke, on Wednesday, announced her resignation from the role.
The bank confirmed her departure in a statement.
Blanke’s resignation takes effect on July 4, 2020.
According to her, she is leaving “purely for family reasons.”
Blanke also used the opportunity to thank the AfDB President, Akinwumi Adesina, for his “strong leadership, guidance and support.”
“I am leaving purely for family reasons to rejoin my family in Switzerland, after a very fulfilling time at the bank.
“I thank President Akinwumi Adesina for his strong leadership, guidance, and support which have undoubtedly motivated and helped my team and me to play a key role in the transformation of the bank,” part of the statement read.
Blanke joined the bank in 2017.
