A story is circulated online about Members of Daystar Church, reportedly getting alert from the church, to cushion the effect of the coronavirus lockdown, this has been refuted by a close source who says it’s not true.
Read what has been circulated online below;
The Senior Pastor of the Daystar Church, Pastor Sam Adeyemi, reportedly credited the account of some members of the church with N10, 000 for the Covid-19 lockdown support.
Kemifilani reports it thus:
“Some members of Daystar church this morning woke up to 5,000 credit alert from their church and Pastor and it was not strange for them.
This is the second time in a row since the outbreak of the coronavirus that the church sent out cash palliative to all her members scattered all over the country.
They were also paid last month being the month of March so the members have been paid 10,000 naira in two months to help cushion the devasting effect of the lockdown caused by Coronavirus by their church.”
Pastor Sam Adeyemi once said that Nigerians are not used to be taken care of by their church which is true but his church is leading the way showing what is possible.
A Twitter user by the name Olusola Jaiyeola has debunked the reports, he stated that the popular clergyman didn’t credit anybody. read is tweet below:
Pls get your facts right, Pst Sam did not credit anybody money, this is what @DaystarNG does with offerings, just like the early church making sure no one goes to bed hungry and it isn’t a new development it happens every Sunday before the pandemic and will continue afterwards.
