Thomas Stemen, 51, has been charged with assault after police were shown the footage of the attack. Detectives believe there might be even more victims of similar incidents in the area

A man has been accused of stabbing a woman with a syringe filled with semen after being filmed on supermarket CCTV.

Thomas Byron Stemen, 51, was arrested and charged with assault after police were shown the footage.

The clip shows the suspect closely following a woman as she returns a shopping cart before apparently poking her with a syringe.

When the victim turns around after being poked, she can be seen looking at the floor to try and understand what happened.

The suspect, wearing a pair of jeans and a blue sweater, also looks at the floor, then keeps following her and leaves the store just after she gets out.

Anne Arundel County Police said semen was found inside the syringes after the suspect was arrested for allegedly poking a woman in a Churchton grocery store in Maryland.

Local news station WJLA said Stemen is being held without bond after he was arrested on Wednesday.

Police believe he is the same attacker who can be seen assaulting the victim on surveillance video.

Stemen, of Churchton, Maryland, is also accused of trying to stab two other women at the store, but missing them both.

The suspect was placed under arrest where he was charged with 1st, and 2nd Degree Assault and Reckless Endangerment.

On February 28, the Anne Arundel County Police Department learned that the substance in the syringe was semen.

Detectives believe there many be more victims of similar incidents who haven’t reported them and have asked them to come forward to report any suspicious incidents.

The victim who was stabbed has undergone urine and blood tests, and will be taking medication for 30 days.

Police say they found a large syringe filled with liquid in Stemen’s car during a search, as well as more syringes in his home, the news station reports.

Additional testing and investigations are under way.
