The Convener of a Yoruba Development and Unity Initiative also known as Yoruba Mandate Group, Akogun Banji Ojo has called on all Yoruba citizens to desist from undue popularity over the raging issue of the Yoruba Security Outfit, Operation Amotekun recently launched by South West Governors.

In his words, Akogun Banji Ojo stressed that the security of the South West should not be ethnic biased. He said that Amotekun was set up to address the security challenges of the South West and should not turn to Political arena where scores are being settled via war of words.

According to Late Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Yoruba Nation has no problem but leadership power tussle, It is important to put aside the struggles for power and focus on the true opinions on Amotekun which includes a strong constitutional backup guiding the activities and affairs of the security outfit.

“Governors, Traditional Rulers, Pressure Groups and concerned Individuals should also make informed suggestions on restructuring the formation of Operation Amotekun”, he added.
