The Truth about the Federal Government omission of THE PUNCH newspaper from the national dailies that got front Page advertorial from the Presidency on Wednesday, January 1st 2020 have been revealed.
There were earlier reports that the omission was as a result of its decision to prefix the Presidents’ Name with Major General – his rank as a military dictator between 1984 and 1985 after it announced in an editorial in December 11, 2019 that it would refer to Buhari’s Government as a regime over his “disregard for the rule of law”.
MPN exclusively gathered from a reliable source that the omission was due to the fact that the Federal Government paid Eight Million Naira for four Pages including a front Page to The Nation, Independent and Guardian but THE PUNCH requested for Twelve Million Naira which was the real cost, the Federal Government disagreed and the deal was cancelled.
This however revealed that it was the Person who was in charge of the Advert from the side of the Federal Government that short changed the Media houses cutting the Price Ridiculously.
