Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has reacted as South African authorities are allegedly frustrates the evacuation of Nigerians who are for the first batch of airlift from that country.
The Nigerian government is evacuating its citizens following the incessant xenophobic attacks on foreigners by the South Africans.
Air Peace flight, which left Nigeria 11:30pm yesterday arrived OR Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg about 4:00am on Wednesday as Nigerians turned up for the airlift.
It was reported that after the High Commission had prepared the first 320 Nigerians for the first evacuation, the South Africa Immigration was arresting Nigerians who are due to travel, accusing them of travelling without papers.
Mr. Fani-Kayode while reacting to the development via his official Twitter page wrote;
“South African officials refused to allow many Nigerians to be evacuated back home to Nigeria today. First you kill our compatriots and when we send planes to to pick them up and bring them back home to their loved ones you refuse to let them go! South Africa, you will pay!”
