Gernot Rohr’s men were down 2-1 in the first half but scored two goals in the second period to claim a deserved victory over Clarence Seedorf’s men.
Super Eagles legend, Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha reacted after the match as he praised the team for the way they approached the match despite being 2-1 down in the first 45 minutes.
The former BBC African Footballer of the year was in Supersport AFCON 2019 studio as he was part of the analyst for the match.
“We knew that with the progress in the competition, they will get stronger and tougher” the former Super Eagles captain said. “I’m sorry my ‘frienemy’ Kingston, that things didn’t work out the way he wanted”
“We worked really hard today, for me it was the desire from the players to win the game and that was shown (in the match). “I’m delighted that they (Super Eagles) are still in the tournament and better things to come.” he added.
