Grey’s Anatomy star Jesse Williams has asked a Los Angeles court to block his ex-wife Aryn Drake-Lee’s bid for an extra $210,000 in their ongoing split.
Drake-Lee, who shares two kids with Williams, has requested the court force the actor to pay $100,000 in attorneys’ fees in the case, as well as $110,000 for professionals to perform forensic accounting in their financial dispute, E! News reported.
Williams told the court he’s already put in excess of $270,000 toward Drake-Lee’s attorney fees, which the court has past acknowledged was fair.
Williams said in court docs that the court should ‘send a message’ that their case ‘is not a free ride,’ according to The Blast.
He added: ‘Aryn has been able to avoid seeking meaningful employment, preferring instead to comfortably live off her substantial support.’
Williams said that his ex-wife is not earmarking her money properly, and that he shouldn’t be held liable to subsidize her endeavors.
‘Aryn will likely claim she is losing money on her businesses yet even assuming this true, Jesse should not be prejudiced as a result of Aryn’s poor investment choices,’ the actor said in court docs.
Last summer, the court ordered Williams to pay in excess of $50,000 per month in child support to Drake-Lee, who also receives $50,695 in spousal support.
