President Donald Trump has called on the Justice Department and the FBI to probe the ‘outrageous’ decision by authorities in Chicago not to prosecute Jussie Smollet.
Trump, weighed in on the Smollett case nearly two days after the stunning announcement that the Cook County state’s attorney would not be bringing charges against the ‘Empire’ actor.
‘FBI & DOJ to review the outrageous Jussie Smollett case in Chicago. It is an embarrassment to our Nation!’ Trump wrote.
His tweet followed reports that the feds were already reviewing the case.
Local prosecutors announced Tuesday they were dropping charges after obtained a grand jury indictment on charges that he staged an attack on himself to make it appear he was a victim of a hate crime.
