Jussie Smollett Has Lied To The Cops Before

Jussie Smollett, who went from being a guy everyone was sorry for to being a suspect of staging a hate crime against himself – actually pleaded no contest in 2007 to giving false information to the cops during a DUI stop in Los Angeles, according to PageSix.

The complaint filed in LA Superior Court in the 9th month of 2007 reveals that Jussie uttered his brother’s name, Jake, when he was asked for his name by a cop.

Reports also say he signed a false name on the vow to show up in court.

The actor was later charged with false impersonation, driving while drunk and with no driver’s license.

Court papers prove that the singer pleaded no contest to the decreased charge of giving false information, in addition to DUI and driving without a valid license counts.

Jussie ended up being slammed with 2 years probation and an option of a fine or jailtime, an LA LA City Attorney’s spokesman revealed to NBC News.

Jamal of “Empire” finished an alcohol education and treatment program and also wrapped up the terms of his sentence in May the following year.

This old case is slowly getting dug up as the police investigate Jussie Smollett’s current saga, to determine if it was a staged crime or a real one.
