A political group, which goes by the name, Forward With Buhari, has said ballot box snatching is one of the main trick used by political thugs to massively rig elections.
The National Secretary of the group, Dr. Kayode Ajulo came out to say anyone found culpable should be treated like a petty robber.
He added that ballot box snatching was identical to armed robbery, and that guilty participants must face the wrath of the law.
His words, “Ballot box snatching is not done by a burglar but by brigands; the offence is more than armed robbery.”
“If he dies as a result, and in such circumstances as are permitted by law, such force is reasonably necessary for the defence of any person from unlawful violence or for the defence of property; in order to effect a lawful arrest, or to prevent the escape of a person lawfully detained; or for the purpose of suppressing a riot, insurrection or mutiny.”
