Rita Ora’s mother has disclosed that her daughter is scared of battling cancer since she battled it too.
She also said facing an illness as serious as that actually changes a family.
The singer’s mum said after she was diagnosed with breast cancer 14 years ago, “Rita rebelled a little, bunking off school for a couple of weeks. It was her mental escape.”
She continued by saying, “The whole family is still left with the anxieties that cancer ingrains. Rita gets anxious and sometimes has panic attacks. Having a serious illness in the family gives you a different perspective on life. You become appreciative of every day. Money or status don’t make a difference to me. What’s important are health and family. I learnt to prioritise these the hard way.”
Rita Ora herself came out recently to speak about her panic attacks.
The beautiful singer said to The Sun, “Death is my biggest phobia. I used to have panic attacks when I was little, saying, Mum, I don’t want to die. I’ve been to therapy and still try to go every week.”
