4 NDLEA officers killed by unknown gunmen in Ondo state

Four officers of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, in Ondo State have been killed by unknown gunmen many are suspecting to be drug dealers.

According to Daily Post, the sad incident happened while the deceased identified as Abduljalad Mohammed; Wellinton Emmanuel; Magaji Aliu and Mohammed lliyasu, were on duty at a checkpoint over the weekend.

The gunmen who were armed with AK 47 rifle, according to sources came on motorcycles.

“The NDLEA officers were five in number at the check point but one of them escaped and their rifles were taken away,” the source said.

“When their bodies were discovered, their guns were not found with them.

“Our society is no more safe, if armed men are being gunned down like that,” the source lamented.

Mr Haruna Dagara, the NDLEA Commander in the state, confirming the incident said;

“Our men have gone to evacuate the corpses from the scene and other paramilitary agencies are on ground,” he said.
