Nigeria’s 2019 Election Postponed?

After rumors began to circulate that the 2019 elections had been postponed, INEC has come out to verify things.

As journalists stayed awake at INEC’s headquarters in Abuja, Rotimi Oyekanmi, the chief press secretary to INEC’s chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, let the newsmen know that the commission had taken a decision after a vital meeting attended by the chairman and 12 national commissioners.

Because of the crucial meeting, many had and are still having the feeling that the election could eventually be postponed for obvious reasons.

Clear reasons being INEC’s complaint of some technical constraints it battled few days to the election which may have affected its preparations for the conduct of the elections.

Mr. Rotimi Oyekanmi, the chief press secretary to INEC’s chairman said, “A decision has been taken, but you’d have to hear from the horse’s mouth.”
