The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has confirmed the fire outbreak in it’s office in Awka has left about 4,695 Smart Card Readers destroyed.
National Commissioner, Chairman of Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, confined this via a statement adding that there were no injuries recorded.
Okoye said that the indigenes should not worry as immediate measures had been taken to ameliorate the situation as the commission is certain that the election in the state would proceed as scheduled.
