The Imo State All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, Senator Hope Uzodinma has disagreed with Governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha’s over his stance that the state is not owing anyone.
Senator Uzodinma said that the state was owing banks over N12 billion.
Okorocha had said earlier that he never got a loan from any bank as governor and that he was not in any way, owing any bank.
Uzodinma however, stressed that it could be verified that all the local government funds and statutory allocations were paid in an illegal manner into a private account.
His words, “This is to avoid banks that are being owed by the state government from recovering their monies.”,
He further revealed that the first bailout fund to the state when President Muhammadu Buhari resumed office that was for the payment of pensioners and workers in Imo state was not used in the right way as pensioners still did not get their money, and workers paid just 70 per cent of their monthly salaries.
