Dolores Aveiro, the mother of footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has defended him against the rape allegations he is currently facing.

Recall an American teacher Kathryn Mayorga had accused Ronaldo of raping her in a Las Vegas hotel room in 2009.

Reacting, Dolores said she had ‘confidence’ in her son adding that the alleged victim ‘didn’t go to his hotel room to play cards’.

Dolores Aveiro while at a PR launch in Lisbon said: ‘I have confidence in my son when it comes to what happened.

‘When she went there, it wasn’t to play cards. It was to do something. I know the son I have.’

Ronaldo has since denied the claims.
