The governorship candidate of the Allied People’s Movement in Ogun State, Mr Adekunle Akinlade, has said Buhari does not need the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Dapo Abiodun, to be successful in the February election.
His words, “I don’t recognise him (Abiodun) as the APC governorship candidate in Ogun because of the way he emerged. President Buhari does not need him to deliver Ogun to him because he (Abiodun) cannot deliver, he will lose and he knows it.
“They know they cannot win and that is why they are causing violence like they did on Thursday.
“We want peaceful elections because we know we will win. They attacked our people with machetes, they injured them and I went to visit some of our injured members in the hospital today. But we will not encourage violence.”
