The Ondo State Police Command on Tuesday said it had arrested six people, who were allegedly involved in various kidnap cases in parts of the state.
According to the police, among the suspects are three siblings,Joy Raymond, Peace Raymond and Ayomide Raymond.
The other suspects arrested by the police are Yafara Adamu, Sunday Kehinde and Oluwayomi Akinseye.
According to Punch, Speaking on the arrests, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Femi Joseph, said the siblings and Akinseye allegedly kidnapped a six-year-old girl at Oba Ile in Akure North Local Government Area of the state on November 21, 2018, and released the victim after a N700,000 ransom was paid.
Joseph stated,
“Shortly after the payment of the ransom, a team of anti-kidnapping officers, led by the officer in charge, stormed the venue where the ransom was paid. The suspects were all rounded up and the ransom, which had already been buried in an uncompleted building, was exhumed as an exhibit.
“The suspects confessed to committing the crime. They will be arraigned in court at the conclusion of investigation.”
