Canada running low on marijuana barely two months after making it legal

Imagine, just Barely two days after they became the first industrialised nation to legalise marijuana, Canadian stores are quickly running low on stock.!?

Daily Mail is saying that Canadians who are seeking out legal recreational marijuana on Thursday do not only had to contend with long queues, but also supply shortages in the wake of the historic change.

A certain man named Alexandre, had to be turned away from a store which closed at 9pm, despite that this man had been on the long queue waiting in line for a painful seven hours.

According to Alexandre,:

“It was hell, it was cold. But we had fun anyway, talking with people in the crowd and sharing joints”

Same Supply shortages also reccur in the provinces of Newfoundland and Saskatchewan, and also in the Arctic territory of Nunavut.

According to Bill Blair, a former Toronto police chief who once led the government legalisation programme:

“We expected, you know, certain strains might run out and there would be a bit of a run on supply. But, you know, they’ve got a pretty good infrastructure in place and I’m confident it will work” he said.

He told public broadcaster CBC the country was unable to supply enough to meet demand.

The new law, permits citizens to carry up to 30 grams of cannabis in public and also gives each household the legal advantage to be able to grow up to four marijuana plants.
