A police officer has been dismissed after a disciplinary hearing found she used racist language on a night out. Pc Katie Barratt, of Northumbria Police, was ruled to have used derogatory terms about the staff in a Newcastle takeaway while she was drunkenly waiting for a pizza.

She made the comments to colleagues and was not heard by the staff.

The first allegation was that she made racially offensive comments about staff in the takeaway and said ‘f***ing n****r’ and ‘f***ing p**i’ – however Barratt denied this. It was also alleged that she used the word ‘p**i’ up to six times. Barratt accepted this in part and claimed she had used the word twice,Metro reports.
