The Lagos state police command has arrested a certain man identified as Abioye Olakunle for allegedly duping his married sidechic Kehinde Opebiye, of N850k. Reports have it that Olakunle promised to marry Kehinde.
According to Pmexpress, the alleged scam happened at Irewolede Street, Shasha, Lagos, where Olakunle resides with his wife and children.
Kehinde was said to be planning to leave her husband and marry Olakunle but, discovered along the line that he is infact married with kids.
Wasting no time, she requested for her money back but Olakunle refused. He asked her to come in and join his wife; as he was still prepared to marry her, regardless.
Not ready to settle for such, Kehinde confessed to her husband who had been suspicious of her movements before she opened up. She pleaded for forgiveness and told the husband that she might have been charmed by Olakunle to behave in such a manner.
After her husband forgave her, he took the case to the police station at Shasha Division to report the alleged scam.
Olakunle, was arrested and admitted that he collected the money and said he still plans on marrying her should she agree.
Olakunle was later charged before the Ejigbo Magistrates court on Thursday for marriage fraud and stealing. He pleaded not guilty and the Presiding Magistrate, Mr. L.K.J. Layeni granted him bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
