Dallas police are investigating allegations that singer R. Kelly “knowingly and intentionally” gave a woman herpes without her knowledge during their 11-month relationship, according to Dallas Morning News.
The unnamed 20-year old filed the complaint last week and “intends to file a lawsuit by the end of the week,” her lawyer told the newspaper.
In Texas, someone who transmits a sexually-contracted disease to a partner after failing to disclose they had it “can be charged with assault.”
The woman allegedly met the singer backstage at one of his concerts, and was then “groomed…over the next several months” to join his sex cult.
She reportedly wants the singer “to get therapy and donate to causes for women who are victims of abuse.”
A representative told The Washington Post that Kelly “categorically denies all claims and allegations” from the complaint.
