Donald Trump is reportedly seeking an injunction to stop an interview with a porn star he is alleged to have slept with behind Melania’s back from airing. His lawyers are said to be considering ways to stop Stormy Daniels 60 Minute interview with Anderson Cooper airing ahead of a proposed Sunday transmission.
And Stormy, real name Stephanie Clifford, has even offered to pay back $130,000 ‘hush money’ given to her after the affair so she can speak freely.
A Trump source who spoke to BuzzFeed told said the president’s team were ‘preparing to file for a legal injunction to prevent it from airing.’
Any injunction will be handled by attorney Lawrence Rosen, rather than Trump’s personal lawyer Michael Cohen, who admitted making the $130,000 payment last month.
Her lawyer Michael Avenatti insisted Daniels’ desire to speak out ‘has never been about the money’, but rather that she wants to be ‘allowed to tell the truth.’
Stormy sued Trump in a bid to formally discharge the NDA last week, which she says she was made to sign in October 2016. She claimed the President’s failure to sign it – as well as Cohen’s disclosure about the money she received – renders it invalid.
