A mom was arrested after letting two of her children sleep and play in the same room as her eldest daughter for two days after she died.
Serina Madden, 31, faces charges of endangering child welfare after letting her nine year-old son Keegan Skylare and two year-old daughter Patti Jo play in the same room as Belladonna Loke, 10.
According to UK Metro,Belladonna’s body was found at the family home in Colesville, upstate NY, on February 18, around two days after her death, police say.
The youngster suffered a severe, undisclosed disability. A post-mortem was carried out after her death, but medical examiners have yet to reveal what caused her to die.
Her mom has not been charged in connection with the Belladonna’s.
Court documents have instead accused her of knowing the youngster had died but failing ‘to take care of Belladonna’s remains.’
She was released from Broome County Jail Friday after posting bail, and faces up to a year in jail if convicted of the misdemeanor charges.
